The Centre for Evidence-Based Intervention (CEBI) is a global leader in conducting rigorous evaluations of interventions aimed at tackling today’s urgent social problems.
We investigate what works, with whom, and in which contexts, particularly through high-quality randomised trials, systematic reviews and other evaluation designs. We also carry out basic research into the causes of social problems, to understand better how and why interventions are effective.
Our ultimate aim is to help develop successful interventions that translate into effective social policies and programmes.
We operate within the Department of Social Policy and Intervention at the University of Oxford, which offers the MSc in Evidence-Based Social Intervention and Policy Evaluation – a pioneering degree course that delivers practical skills for critically examining social interventions and evidence.
